Conflict Resolution Systems:Corporate Team Building,Proactive Management,Family Mediation,Love,Compatibility and Career Development

Conflict Resolution Systems:Team Building,Marriage and Family,Love and Compatibility and Career Development I am so excited to launch my new Conflict Resolution Systems site. For more than a decade I have been looking for a way to make my skills widely available. The difficulty is that conflict resolution systems are not widely known. Lately I have done research which reveals several high demand areas for my work.

Conflict Resolution Systems:Prevention &Remediation

It took me a while to understand what I do in terms of the problems most people have, since I work primarily to optimize how people relate both at home and in the workplace. “Behavioral Assessment Profiling”sounds rather dry and academic, doesn’t it? That’s precisely the problem. Conflict resolution systems are best understood in context.

Conflict Resolution Systems for Corporate Team Building

One crucial factor in corporate environments is team building. Teamwork can spell the difference between meeting deadlines or costly delays. It is vital to achieve synergy by harnessing talents of individuals in such a way that maximizes productivity without creating conflicts. Often people’s behavioral styles collide in ways that can lead to misunderstandings. By assessing behavioral styles with conflict resolution systems,it is possible to develop methods to work around differences while clarifying roles which are fully compatible with people’s behavioral styles. Ultimately, team building amounts to effective cost containment and production efficiency in a people-friendly work environment. The results are loyal employees and increased profits.

Conflict Resolution Systems for Family Mediation

It seldom occurs to people that dissimilar behavior types might arise spontaneously within a family. All too often, people assume that different behavioral styles are somehow “bad”or the result of bad parenting. This is not the case. A more realistic perspective involves the realization that although the majority of family members may display certain behavior styles, there may be a few family members that don’t. This may occur as a family joke or worse might result in the minority members being labeled “black sheep”and being subjected to unjust punishments. Using conflict resolution systems allows families to understand one another’s behavioral styles and to work together effectively as a cohesive family unit. Frustrations turn into appreciations. Marriages and family-owned business are saved.

Conflict Resolution Systems for Love Compatibility

After the first rush of attraction comes the necessity of dealing with compatibility issues. Behavioral quirks can serve to mystify one’s partner and might even occur as irritations. Conflict resolution systems can be quite helpful whether you are attempting to find a good match, resolve differences or develop appropriate roles to build a lasting relationship.

Conflict Resolution Systems for Career Development

Having a job you love is a key to happiness for most people. Even when you have a job you love, there can be people in the workplace that pose difficulties. Conflict resolution systems helps you to:

  • Know what you need to look for to find a job you love
  • Know what roles will keep you happy in your existing job
  • Know how to deal with people of different behavioral styles
  • Know the keys to conflict resolution in the workplace

If you are in Southern California in the San Diego Area,(Poway,Encinitas,Oceanside,La Jolla,Escondido) we can meet face to face. Otherwise, you can reach me via the Contact Us page. I would love to discuss conflict resolution systems.

How to become a Behavioral Profiler

Want to become a Behavioral Profiler?

Behavioral Profiler

Carol Dysart

If you have ever considered becoming a Behavioral Profiler, you have come to the right place!

I have been in the behavioral profiler field and business for over 30 years, and, like you, have been fascinated by the topic.  The fact is,people in my behavioral profiler business love people!

Some may wonder what is a behavioral profiler?

A behavioral profiler is actually a relatively new name for an industry or interest.

History of the Behavioral Profiler

Up until the mid 1920′s,most people thought that people were unable to determine their own destinies and the church influenced how people thought and behaved.

But by early in the 21st century,Dr. William Marston,an American behavioral scientist became  the first behavioral profiler because of his interest in the mechanics of “why people do what they do.”  He started observing and documenting the behavior of “normal people”–people like you and me –as opposed to the “criminally insane”people that Drs Freud and Jung were studying at the time.

Marston knew there must be keys to what motivates and underlies all behavior,so he started studying people and found that, yes, there were actually four major (and predictable) behavioral style types. After observing people’s behavior for a while, you could observe the patterns they tended to follow.

Behavioral Profiler:Misunderstandings

The common misunderstandings about the source of man’s behavioral patterns was that some outside force could give –or take away –man’s ability to succeed on his own accord!  This thought had kept human beings trapped in limiting beliefs for hundreds, even thousands of years. And when asked, people thought everyone thought and behaved just the same…just like them!  WRONG!

The Behavioral Profiler Legitamized!

Marston’s research and work as a behavioral profiler actually corrected this misunderstanding by demonstrating that behavior was observable –and each of the four major style types were normal as well as being motivated very differently!  This was a major breakthrough and directly out of his work what we now know as behavioral profiling was born when a Dr. John Geier,of University of Minnesota, took Marston’s research and created a personality profiling instrument out of it!

Behavioral profilers emerged as a career choice as as this new “science of human behavior”became more popular by companies such as Performax and Wilson learning, and others started training people who were interested in learning how to do behavioral profiling as an independent consultant.  This work is based on learning how to administer and debrief or interpret what shows up in the profiles one can take by answering 24 or more forced-choice questions about “most”and “least”often behaviors.

I was certified in a two day training back in (ahem) 1979 where I had to learn about ALL the various types of profiling instruments that a behavioral profiler would use. It was not that hard to learn, and the possibility of actually creating a career around being a behavioral profiler was (and still is) as fascinating as any other scientific study could be. Suddenly I found a career as a behavioral profiler and it was all about my favorite subject…me!

The long and short of this story will unfold as I discuss other topics in this fascinating field as a behavioral profiler.  But leave it to say right now, that I never looked back!  Since then,I have profiled thousands of people from almost every country and from every walk in life.  And since once people take their own profile and find out amazingly accurate and fascinating it is,they want to learn how to become a behavioral profiler too!

So in the last few years,I’ve taken the time to document everything I learned about interpreting profiles into my Behavioral Profiler Train-the-Trainer Certification  (http://www.caroldysart.com/Certification.html) and have become a professional trainer of behavioral profilers!  Feel free to call me  at 1 619 309 6444 (Pacific Time please) if you are interested in becoming a behavioral profiler too!

Conflict Resolution &Marital Counseling

Conflict Resolution &Marital Counseling:It’s a matter of perspective

Conflict Resolution &Marital CounselingHi! I’m Carol Mallory Larsen Dysart. I am not a “marriage counselor”per se,but I find myself doing quite a bit of marital counseling. As you can tell by the two names following my maiden name,“Carol Mallory”,I’ve been ‘around the block’ (the MARRIAGE BLOCK,that is) a couple of times! The good news? I know what works. The bad news? I know what doesn’t! And I’ve done a LOT of personal and professional growth and development work since I first got married, just out of UCLA,and after my fifth year as a secondary education teacher. I was married 13 years (9 happily) to our children’s father. And five years later,I was married to my second husband for 9 ½ years when it became very clear to me that “I was just not the right wife for you!” (I’ll ignore for the moment that I was the person who was constant in this!) But again, the good news is that both times we were able to create a win/win dissolution of the marriage,do our own filing, and maintain agreement for joint custody of the children.

I still consider both men to be friends of mine and we often share important family events together when it doesn’t make sense not to. It would be fair to say that I have enough experience to provide marital counseling.

Conflict Resolution &Marital Counseling:Solving Your Own Differences

The most important conflict resolution marital counseling key was that it was never necessary to hire divorce lawyers or mediators,to get involved in family courts or family court issues,to fight child custody battles,or,actually experience conflict of any kind. In both marriages we filed our own dissolution paperwork with the county, and with my first husband and father of my two children,I traded him his equity in our home for his child support to me. I did have to work harder to create the financial security I needed, but the difference that made in not having to deal with money issues or father rights or family solicitors, made it all worth while to me. (Know your values!)

Conflict Resolution &Marital Counseling:Divorce

You may be wondering,“Do you recommend divorce?”

My answer is emphatically ‘NO!’ In my experience, divorce is never the best option if there are children under 16 involved and unless one of the partners is a danger to the safety of the spouse or the children. When the couple has chosen poorly in the beginning or the conflict has gone so far that a couple is just not able or willing to work it out without marital counseling in the many different ways you will learn in this series,I feel that the parents should never live more than a few miles away from each other. It is just not fair and is too hard on children if they do not have quality time with both parents whenever possible.

(I will share more on parenting issues of marital counseling in other categories later, but for right now we are going to focus on your marriage, and resolving the conflict there!)

Conflict Resolution &Marital Counseling:Profiling

With the insight I’ve gained to from over 30 years working with the DISC Personality Profiling Systems in marital counseling and with people from every culture, age group, economic and education levels, and with the experience that profiling and working with hundreds of couples since then,I can now predict that almost anyone who is willing to set ego aside and work harder for the mutual benefit, with the right tools and marital counseling, can create a mutually satisfying and loving marriage and life.

I know I could have achieved that with both of my ex-husbands. The caveat is that both parties must be willing to do what it takes to go through the processes and must be committed to their children. If so,then it is definitely possible to heal and improve any relationship with marital counseling.

Interested in how? Stay tuned… we are just getting started with the marital counseling piece!

Now that my team has also experienced the same work with Carol’s profiles,we have smoothed out edges so our interactions are easy and our performance has accelerated tremendously. And we have a lot more fun.

The amount of knowledge and research that went into creating the DISC assessment must have been massive. And Carol delivered the interpretations with incredible wisdom and excitement. We learned and laughed our way into a new zone for marketing and selling our services, which we could never have done before. The power is in the clarity and practical use of the tool on a daily basis. The ease in using it is the extra
degree that makes the DISC most worthwhile. We cannot do without it now.

I am so thrilled we took action to use this instrument, and most pleased we took this experience with a real pro.
